Visits include Runnymede where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215 and the JFK memorial is located; Salisbury to see the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta; and Windsor Castle, home of George III during the War of Independence, favourite residence of our present Queen, and St George’s Chapel, famous for an Anglo-US Royal marriage.  Heading to the south coast of England we travel back to the 1620s to discover the story of the Founding Fathers and the Mayflower’s departure for the New World visiting the ports of Southampton, Dartmouth and Plymouth, each with its own distinct historical legacy and we will uncover, in a tiny coastal village, an early version of the stars and stripes and a Washington connection with the home country.
